I hate it when people say forgive and forget but this…

Now, full disclosure, when I first picked up this book, I was like, “Here we go again, another self-help book promising to solve all my problems.” Call me cynical, but forgiving what you can’t forget sounded ridic.

But let me tell you, Lysa TerKeurst’s “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget.” surprised me. She doesn’t just dish out fluffy advice; she dives deep into her own struggles and lays it all out there. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s relatable. Suddenly, forgiving didn’t seem like such a far-fetched idea.

What sets this book apart is its practicality. TerKeurst doesn’t just talk the talk; she walks you through actionable steps to actually deal with your pain and move forward. From confronting the hurt head-on to setting boundaries, she covers all the bases.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there were moments where I rolled my eyes and thought, “Yeah, easier said than done.” But as I kept reading, I found myself nodding along, slowly buying into her wisdom.

By the end of it, I felt a little lighter, a little more hopeful. Sure, forgiving might still be a work in progress, but TerKeurst’s insights gave me the push I needed to start the journey. So, if you’re like me and approached this book with a healthy dose of skepticism, give it a chance. You might just be pleasantly surprised.
